MV Times: Extensive Mapping of the Deer Population is In

A Martha’s Vineyard Times article reports on the completion of the Island’s most extensive deer population survey, using winter drone flights and thermal imaging to map deer across more than 100 locations. The effort, led by Tick Free MV in partnership with wildlife specialists, identified thousands of deer and produced detailed density maps showing where populations are most concentrated. The data is intended to guide future deer management strategies aimed at reducing tick-borne illnesses and improving public health on the Island.
